Mayor urges full attendance at Mid and East Antrim Grants Support Information Sessions
Community groups, sports clubs, arts groups and a range of similar local organisations are set to benefit from Mid and East Antrim Grants Support funding.
The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough, Councillor Audrey Wales MBE, has urged anyone interested to attend one of a series of forthcoming information sessions.
She said: “Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s Grants Support team will be hosting a number of information sessions to advise groups in the Borough of the various schemes and levels of funding available.
“The aim of the schemes is to provide financial support through various categories for organisers of events as well as community groups, sports clubs and arts groups in the Borough who are undertaking projects which are of benefit to all of the citizens of Mid and East Antrim Borough,” Cllr Wales said.
Since the commencement of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council in April 2015, Grants Officers have received and processed over 1,100 applications and awarded £1.2 million.
These awards have included the Community Grants Support Scheme, Good Relations Grants, the Community Festivals Fund and the Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) Grants.
The information sessions will take place over various dates in March and as they are expected to be busy, places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis with interested groups asked to nominate a maximum of two representatives to attend on their behalf. The Mayor continued: “These Information Sessions are an opportunity to meet with the Grants Team, Good Relations, PCSP and Rural Development Officers to identify what funding is available.
“These issues will include opening and closing dates of the various schemes, how to maximise funding opportunities and crucially ‘what makes a successful application’ and also an explanation of the funding process – when to expect an outcome - how to successfully draw down a claim and what other funding opportunities may be available,” said the Mayor.
The Grants Information Sessions will take place on Wednesday 15 March, in Larne Town Hall, at 7pm; Thursday 16 March, Jubilee Hall, Carrickfergus Town Hall, at 7pm and on Wednesday 22 March, at the Des Allen Suite, Ballymena Showgrounds, also at 7pm.
Those interested should contact the Grants Office at the email address below with a preferred date to attend by 12pm Friday 10 March. If needed, additional dates may be added.
